A factory dog neck swelling and fever – neck cellulitis – 1/2

Description

The kind-hearted factory owner was told that the factory dog was lethargic and had a swollen neck. His staff phoned me. I arranged for the dog tranported to me.Blood test showed high total white cell count and neutrophil %, suggestive of a bacterial infection of the blood. The dog developed fever and that accounted for the lethargic state.

Hospitalised for 5 days, IV drip with antibiotics given on Day 1 with follow up antibiotics. The dog vomited on Day 1 but recovered after that. Some factory owners in Singapore are very kind to cross-breds and will send the dog in for treatment. This dog “runs” away when the staff wants to bathe him.
