FRANKIE is a playful 1.5-year-old black-and-tan spayed female German Shepherd mix who was rescued from the US Virgin Island of St. Thomas after Hurricane Irma. Weighing about 50 lbs, this funny, happy girl is affectionate, playful, and super smart. She is an active young dog who likes going for walks, hikes, and other adventures, so she would thrive with an outdoorsy person or family with tweens or teens. Her other favorite activities include chewing on chew toys and running the zoomies. She is crate-trained and housebroken, and has completed obedience training. Frankie was rescued with her brother, Jack. The two dogs can be adopted separately or together. Frankie has had such a long journey and we can’t wait for her to find an active forever home in which she can love and be loved.
JACK is a charming 1.5-year-old brindle neutered male mixed Breed dog–probably some combination of Shepherd and Boxer. Whatever he is, he is handsome, sweet, and loads of fun! Jack was rescued from the US Virgin Island of St. Thomas following Hurricane Irma. He weighs about 50 lbs and is a playful, happy boy with a puppy personality. When he is tuckered out, he is the ultimate cuddle buddy: his foster mom describes him as the “biggest lover bunz marshmallow love machine!” Jack is housebroken, crate-trained, and has completed obedience training. He loves to get and out and do things–walk, hike, explore–so will be a great activity partner. Jack is accustomed to living with his sister, who is also available for adoption. They can be adopted separately. Because he has demonstrated a high prey drive, we are not recommending Jack for households with cats. Jack is an active, happy, and loving boy who will thrive in a forever home with a family with adults, teens, or tweens who are eager to spend time with him and give him plenty of attention and exercise. He does need a home with a secure yard. Handsome Jack will be an awesome, fun best friend. He has had such a long journey, and is so eager to be part of a forever home.

Our Mission:
United Hope for Animals is dedicated to reducing homelessness among companion animals through spay/neuter, shelter support, photography, video and networking of shelter animals in Southern California. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to end homelessness among companion animals by supporting shelter adoptions and spay/neuter programs. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals Supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but Supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
