Why do Cows Like Salt?
Sodium Chloride is a very important mineral for the cows general functioning. Salt keeps a cow’s nervous System and muscles working efficiently. A deficiency of salt consumption can lead to loss of appetite which will lead to Weight Loss and decreased production. It also helps in aiding with milk production. The sodium in salt helps with the absorption of calcium. The cows usually have the natural instinct to find salt, they ingest it also from other sources such as tree barks, dirt, and even urine, or from the water they drink, depending on where you are located.
This was filmed from a little village by brother Joel while hand feeding salt to the cows.
